runDisney Race Registration: From Start to Finish

You have seen others run in Disney races. You have seen the medals. Now you want to be a part of the runDisney Community. As the registration season for the 2025 – 2026 runDisney races is beginning, now is the time for you to make those wishes come true. It s ime for you to complete the first step: the runDisney race registration.

When Does runDisney Race Registration Open?

Disney offers race registration 6 to 10 months before each event on rundisney.com. This early timeline allows runners to register safely and have enough time to prepare. Most recently, Disney has scheduled general public race registrations on a specific Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET.

While you can sometimes enter a queue 10 to 15 minutes early, everyone waiting is randomly assigned a spot in the virtual line once registration opens. Understanding how this system works can help reduce frustration and improve your chances of securing a spot.

Before runDisney Race Registration Day: Set Up Your Account

A helpful tip for registration is ensuring your runDisney account is set up ahead of time. You can do this by visiting runDisney.com and selecting the Manage Account option under the Help & Support menu.

Your username and password should be the same ones used for other Disney sites. Checking this before race day will prevent login delays when time is crucial.

How to Join the runDisney Registration Queue

On race registration day, open browsers on multiple devices and queue up before 10 a.m. ET. You will see a screen displaying your estimated wait time before registration begins.

Because runDisney events can sell out quickly, it’s important to stay patient. If your first attempt does not go as planned, don’t give up—spaces can open up as people drop out or fail to complete their registration.

Once registration starts, runDisney will provide an approximate wait time on the virtual queue page. If the wait appears long, don’t panic. The queue may take a few minutes to start moving. Once it does, keep an eye on the countdown timer.

Do not be surprised if your wait takes more than an hour. Many times, the full registration process can take 60 – 90 minutes total until registration is complete or race slots begin to sell out.

The Registration Process: What You Need to Know

When it’s your turn to register, sign into your account. Many of your personal details may already be filled in.

Next, you will need to select the race (or races) you are registering for and confirm your shirt size, emergency contact, and other personal details. Once this information is entered, you can choose to add other runners to your registration or proceed to payment.

Important: Your Registration Is Not Final Until You Pay

You are not running in a race until you complete payment and receive a confirmation number. runDisney race slots do sell out sometimes while some are still in the middle of registration.

To avoid disappointment, finalize your registration quickly and double-check for the official runDisney confirmation email. If you don’t receive one, check your spam folder or log in to your runDisney account to verify your registration status.

What About Proof of Time & Merchandise?

During runDisney race registration, there is a space for a proof of time or a chance to pre-purchase exclusive merchandise for pre-purchase at the race expo. For sake of time, skip this spaces for now. You can come back later for those. Finish that registration first!

For example, when signing up for a half marathon, you can select a finish time of over 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete registration without needing proof of time. You can later return to your runDisney account to update your information.

Completing your runDisney Race Registration is the first Finish Line. Congratulations.
You Did It!
